Welcome Chewy!

We would like to welcome Chewy as the newest member of our family. He is 6 months old. The cats are still adjusting to him by staying in hiding!

It's a Malti-Poo, a cross between Maltese and Poodle. It's not a big dog. So far he's been great around kids, loves outdoors, and loves to chew on his toys.

Leah's birthday party

Since Leah's party fell on Thanksgiving weekend, we had her party this weekend with some of her classmates. They played outside in the snow, played games inside, and enjoyed lunch picked by the birthday girl. Of course, they ended the party with some cake and ice cream.

Today will be in the low 40's. It was in the 20's most of the week. So the snow we had on Monday will be gone.

This weekend we decided to go to Pentwater. We haven't been up there since summer, getting tied down with school and soccer games.

It's the first year that Emma (the Devil) went trick or treating with her friends alone. We gave her a curfew and she came back to the house half hour early!

Claire went for a swim at her friend Avery's house today. She and Avery decided to go commando.

Back to school!

It's back to school time! Emma is now in the 7th grade. Rachel is in the 5th grade. Leah is our 2nd grader. Claire started in Young Fives!

Labor Day weekend

Grandpa Hunsburger bought a new tube for his grandaughters to enjoy. We checked it out when we visited them on July 4th. The girls had a lot of fun on it. Rachel didn't want to go on it till it was time to go. We didn't have a camera around to take her picture. Enjoy the slide show!

Update on Leah's arm

On July 3rd, the doctor removed Leah's splint. Now she has a waterproof cast with some autographs on it. Leah will be in cast for 3 more weeks. Leah is still active and happy to have a smaller cast on the lower part of her arm.

Leah broke her arm

On Friday, Leah was playing on her new bed, the top bunk. Claire moved in with her and Rachel now resides at Claire’s old room. Anyways, Leah was coming down from the top bunk thinking the ladder would be there. It wasn’t and Leah crashed onto the floor below. Jana heard a big boom and then a scream. Leah used her arm to break the fall. Sure enough, her right arm looked bad and decided to rush her to Butterworth ER. On the way, Jana called me at work and asked me to meet them there.

Leah broke her arm into 2 places, near the wrist on her right arm. One is a complete break and the other bone was a hairline fracture. Right now she is in splint and will have a cast on within the next 7-10 days. She cannot go swimming. We will make sure she gets a waterproof cast next week so she can enjoy summer.

Right now Leah is at home resting. She was a brave girl at the hospital.

Whew! The last game of the season, her team finally won a game! Usually they play good in the 1st half and blow it in the 2nd half. Today they played well all game along. It was a hot day for soccer...soon we will be heading over to Mara's for a swim.

We forgot the camera so I used the BlackBerry to snap some pictures...it turned out pretty good!

Also, school is out for the summer!
